These are finished paintings, in the studio now, ready to hang.
Each one is built from thousands of individually rendered strokes, worked through the coat and the musculature hair by hair, in colours mixed for that horse alone and never used again on another painting. It is slow work and it does not scale, which is why there are never many here at once.
