The Real Deal

L 1800 mm x H 1215 mm

Sold

Medium: Acrylic, synthetic polymer paint on linen

Painted on Belgian linen, primed by hand in my studio, in Matisse artist-quality acrylics rated to the archival standard, so the colour holds for generations.

The Real Deal is a portrait of Dundeel, who raced as It's A Dundeel.

Dundeel started nineteen times and won ten, for just over $5.3 million.

Six Group Ones. In 2013 he won the Australian Triple Crown, the Randwick Guineas, the Rosehill Guineas and the Australian Derby, the first horse to do it since Octagonal in 1996. He took the Derby by six lengths.

In 2025 he was inducted into the New Zealand Racing Hall of Fame.

Enquire About a Commission

This work has found its home. If you would like a painting of your own horse, I take on a small number of commissions each year. See how a commission works.
