Creating a painting for Elizabeth in Ras Al Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates was a true honour. The horse world there is vast and deeply woven into the culture, and it was an inspiration to make a piece on this scale showing the three horses in all their beauty and glory. The project let me sit with the history and tradition of the equestrian world in that part of the world, and I am grateful to have been asked to capture the essence of these animals.

Painted on Belgian linen, primed by hand in my studio, in Matisse artist-quality acrylics rated to the archival standard, so the colour holds for generations.
