Medium: Acrylic, synthetic polymer paint on linen
Painted on Belgian linen, primed by hand in my studio, in Matisse artist-quality acrylics rated to the archival standard, so the colour holds for generations.
Leo is one of ours. My husband and I rescued him along with his mother Zen, and we broke them both in ourselves.
He is named after Leonardo da Vinci. He is a paint horse, so it seemed fitting.
Leo and Zen appear with a third horse, Chief, in Guardians, a three and a half metre painting commissioned by the woman who originally owned all three of them.
